I've never heard so much hot air being expelled with no foundation other than spurious statistics. The Biblical Sabbath was not of the Jews but from our Creator Jesus to Adam and Eve closing the Creation week. The ministers who claim to represent god and faith have no idea what they are saying let alone what they represent because they have so effectively misrepresented God's Word by lying what it really says. I'm shocked that a supposed man of god has no idea where the Biblical Sabbath comes from. Not from after the Exodus but the close of Creation. The Jews didn't exist then. Mankind did. All four Gospels tell us which day of the week is Sabbath in plain English so a 2nd grader can read and accept the truth as it is written. Please let's be factual and objective. Sunday is NOT Sabbath , never will be and never can be. Please do not use the wrong name for the first day of the week which the Bible rightly calls Sunday. Church and State do not mix and have never been tolerated by God. Faith is personal and of conscience not a human decree with civil force. The Dark Ages are a dead certain proof of that!!

  2. Sunday is not the Bible Sabbath. The 7th day is Saturday. Modern calendars are subtly showing Sunday as the 7th day – check the calendar on your PC. The 7th day Sabbath began at Creation before there was a single Jew so it cannot be a “Jewish Festival” as suggested by the panel. Roman Catholic admissions happily declare that they changed Sabbath to Sunday as a “mark of their authority”. Check it out. So the bottom line is this: keep Sunday as a day of rest and you unwittingly acknowledge the authority of the RC Church or keep Saturday holy and wittingly acknowledge the Creator. It's that simple. This agitation over Sunday with calendar changes is orchestrated by the RC Church, working in the background through unions, community groups etc. Read Pope John Paul's 'Dies Domini' calling for Sunday worship. Wake up panel.

Agree fully with Herb! As you mentioned in your seminars the 7th day Sabbath forms the foundation of God's 10 commandments. It's God's mark of his authority over His creation.

  4. I invite any member of the panel to please contact me for facts from history and Scripture that clearly establishes the 7th day Sabbath as the Christian Sabbath. Sunday is a child of the Papacy. It's a 'no brainer'. You say “what's the big deal between Saturday or Sunday? Surely one day in seven will do?” The big deal is this: Saturday acknowledges God as Creator and Sunday acknowledges the power of the RC Church to change God's commandment. (A big deal indeed). Whose authority do you recognise – that's the issue. Email me at [email protected] or see material on website http://www.hkea.org.au

  5. Sunday as the day of rest is purely Roman and is not biblical, as has been said their own catechisms say so.
I can well understand why many want to enforce a say of rest, but if you must lets make it the correct day

  6. Have a look at Part II at 11.42. Here is a very courageous young lady who calmly announces to the entire group that the 7th day is Saturday – not Sunday. She gives the Biblical reason – Creation. But please note how the panel responds at 2.06 onwards – no response whatsoever! The discussion just continues on about Sunday. None are so blind as they who will not see.

  7. I am not surprised that this discussion took place; it was just a matter of time. However, what I am surprise with is how only one person in the panel recognised the true day of rest. Anyone who chooses to ignore Saturday as the day of rest ignores the 4th commandment and we all know that no one even the Catholic Pope himself is above the law of GOD. “REMEMBER the Sabbath day and keep it holy” Exodus 20:8. Also nowhere in the bible does it state that we should be worshipping the day of the resurrection of Christ. As an example to us Jesus Christ himself rested, went to the synagogue and respected Saturday as the holy day. Please people do your research and do not allow the work of Satan to clarify your judgement. This debate is the beginning, be prepared for what is to come.

  8. Just to add to what everyone has already commented on, it seems very interesting how they side swepted the comment about the lady on the issue of Saturday being the sabbath. It seems as though some of the proponents for Sunday day of rest are adamant about espousing a supposed “Christian ideal”, of “we're celebrating the ressurection of jesus”, without really interested in doing some serious research into the Sabbath and its importance. It is a subtle, or maybe not so subtle way of marrying church and state once again. Furthermore, it was interesting to see how the Jewish panelist belittled his keeping of the Sabbath and saying it ” doesn't matter what day you keep”, just as long you take a break. As if to imply that keeping the Sabbath for him is something that he does and its not any different then someone else choosing to “rest” on another day. Sounds a lot like relativistic nonsense.

Can you tell me the results of this debate e.g. if it has been passed?

    thank you

    1. It's still at the “debate” level with no specific legislation on the table. If we hear anything, we'll definitely let you know. Visit ReligiousLiberty.TV often, join us on Facebook, or subscribe to our e-mail list for the latest updates.

But surely we don't need the government's permission to take the day off. If we want to not work on ANY day of the week, surely we are still free to exercise that choice. If we want to not shop, we don't have to. If we want to not mow the lawn, we don't have to. And on and on and on. Is the problem, perhaps, that employers are expecting some employees to work on Sundays? Surely we can find that the people who don't care what days they work will work the hours of those who do care? Or is the problem that we don't want to see others working while we aren't? And how deep would you go? Buying a meal? Buying an ice cream? A gallon of petrol? Box of matches? A drink?

    1. Contemporary Furniture—————- your opinion is not the same as what is written in the Bible. It is made clear from creation week that we rest on the 7 day sabbath.

      1. But there are some situations that we can’t avoid not to rest on Sunday. For example, call center agents who work shifting days and hours. My point here is we must work at least 5 days, 6 days max then rest on the 7th day. Whatever the day is even it is not Sunday or 7th day of Sabbath as long as you rest at least one day a week that would be good for your body and mind.

  11. I don’t think we should get caught up on the Roman names given to the days of the weekly cycle.  It is the sequence of days that matter.  So just because the seventh day is now being called Sunday in Europe does not mean we must start keeping the sixth day of the week holy because that day now carries the name of Saturday.  We are not beholden to the name Saturday or Sunday.  We are only beholden to keep the seventh day of each week holy, and that day always falls on the position in the calendar that is now being called Sunday.  Makes it kind of confusing to realize that Sabbath keepers in Europe have been going to church on “Sunday” all this time.  Hey, “first-day Sabbath keepers” are welcome to join the seventh-day Sabbathkeepers on the seventh day of the weekly cycle — now being arbitrarily called Sunday by the ISO.
