So yeah, back in 2008, I launched ReligiousLiberty.TV. That was during what historians now call “the last good year,” before everything turned into hashtags and group texts. People were starting blogs, watching videos of cats knocking over soup cans, and arguing about the Constitution without actually reading it.
Meanwhile, I had this idea—what if there was a place where people could get actual, real-time information about religious liberty issues? Court rulings, legislation, weird local ordinances that might make it illegal to host a Bible study near a recycling bin. Not commentary, not rage, just information. I wanted to prove it was possible to create a kind of constitutional early warning system—a quiet, reliable way to help people who care about these issues know what’s coming before it hits the fan.
And you know what? It worked. We proved it early on. We covered major cases, emerging legal trends, and obscure lower court rulings that nobody else was watching—but mattered anyway. And we did it without yelling, or demanding that you choose a political team first.
We don’t really have an angle. That’s kind of the whole point. We just think people deserve to know what the courts are doing when it comes to religious freedom—before the cable news panels show up and turn it into performance art. We’re not trying to tell you what to think. We figure if you’re reading about the Free Exercise Clause on a Thursday afternoon, you’ve probably got it handled.
We don’t post every day either. Never have. We post when something actually happens or I have what I consider to be a fascinating idea. (This post being an exception.) A new ruling, a meaningful development, or a moment when the words “establishment” and “clause” show up in a judge’s decision without anyone getting fined or set on fire.
And now, we’re on Substack, because let’s face it: people don’t visit websites anymore. They open emails. So now, instead of hoping you remember to check the site between meetings and your uncle’s 47th forwarded conspiracy theory, we come to you. Short, smart updates right in your inbox—no pop-ups, no autoplay videos, no offers for freeze-dried meat.
We’re also proud to be part of Founders’ First Freedom—a non-profit organization that takes this work seriously, supports constitutional principles, and still thinks “due process” is more than just a catchy phrase on a tote bag. With their support, we can keep doing this the right way—quietly, accurately, and without turning it into a subscription-based meltdown.
So yeah. Seventeen years in. Still standing. Still reading court decisions that could cause migraines in large mammals. Still giving you the news the day it happens. Still not trying to win the internet.
That’s ReligiousLiberty.TV. A constitutional early warning system for people who actually care. Proudly connected with Founders’ First Freedom. Still zero clickbait. Still just information.
And hey—if you like what you read, feel free to click “subscribe.” Or forward it to someone who needs to know that yes, the Constitution is still in effect. Mostly.
