ReligiousLiberty.TV has been a leading online resource for news, analysis, and commentary on religious freedom since its launch in June 2008. Covering the free exercise and establishment clauses of the First Amendment, the site tracks the rapidly evolving constitutional landscape across courtrooms, legislatures, and the public square — for believers, nonbelievers, and everyone in between.
In 2017, ReligiousLiberty.TV became part of Founders’ First Freedom®, a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Founders’ First Freedom traces its roots to 1985, when John and Cecil Hedrick partnered with longtime religious liberty advocate John Stevens, Sr. to create an organization dedicated to educating the public about liberty of conscience. Incorporated in its current form in 2005, the organization exists to foster, uphold, and promote the principles of religious liberty — including the freedom to adopt, change, or reject a religious belief; the right to advocate for one’s own ideas; and the constitutional separation of church and state.

Michael D. Peabody, Esq. is an attorney based in Southern California, and serves as Editor of ReligiousLiberty.TV and President of Founders’ First Freedom. He has firsthand experience with the real-world stakes of First Amendment protections. Peabody has represented employees in religious accommodation cases under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, testified before legislative bodies on behalf of workplace religious freedom, and provided legal analysis on landmark Supreme Court decisions involving the Establishment and Free Exercise Clauses. He has been a featured guest on numerous podcasts and programs offering accessible legal perspective on complex constitutional questions. Under his editorial leadership, ReligiousLiberty.TV covers religious freedom issues across the political and theological spectrum — from SCOTUS oral arguments to local zoning disputes — with a commitment to clarity, accuracy, and the conviction that liberty of conscience is the foundational human right.
